Background Check

Have you ever taken part in an online card or scrapbooking class?  I'm not sure I ever have, or maybe it was so long ago I just don't remember.  Recently the "Crushing on Cardstock" class by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire caught my eye, so I decided to check out @onlinecardclasses to find out more (and see what other classes they offered).

Stampin' Up! and Gina K

Today I'm showcasing how you can mix and match Stampin' Up! products with other product lines you may have in your stash.  I like to get the most out of my supplies, and when I'm able to mix and match, it's definitely a bonus.

More from Pansy Patch

Happy Wednesday! Popping in to share a few more cards I made using the Pansy Patch Suite from Stampin' Up!.   This time around my focus was on the Pansy Patch stamp set and coordinating DSP.

Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne's Lace - this is such a sweet and simple stamp set from Stampin' Up! and I think often gets overlooked.  I love how you can make the image soft and gentle like I did in the card below, or bold and beautiful like my bold purple and gold cards above. This set is also so perfect to send out cards to those who may be struggling a bit right now with COVID and all the lockdowns, as it has some really nice sentiments.

Hello Dear Friend

Hi there!  I hope the sun is shining where you are. Here it is a rainy and overcast day, but that also means it's a perfect day to do some card making.  The beautiful purples and pinks of these cards certainly helped me forget about the wet weather outside!

Butterfly Brilliance

Hello and welcome!  Today I'm sharing a few cards I made recently that focus on the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and Butterfly Bijou DSP from Stampin' Up!. I like how the dies are made to line up perfectly with the DSP to cut out some of the butterfly images.

Playing with Alchol Inks

A few months ago a very sweet friend of mine shared a YouTube video by Mindy Eggen with me that was all about alcohol ink "lifting".  I'll be honest, despite having seen others create some amazing art with alcohol inks I had yet to take the plunge myself.  After seeing that video however I knew I had to give it a go!

Made with Love

I absolutely adore this little knitting gnome!  As soon as I saw her I knew I had to have her.  I'm not a knitter per say, but I have so many friends that are and I knew that I could make some really fun cards for them with this image.

More with Snail Mail

Hi there!  Quick post today to share a few more cards made with the Snail Mail bundle.  These cards are larger then your standard A2, and measure 6"x6".  It was fun to switch things up a bit and in the process, use up some of my 12x12 cardstock.

Snail Play

Happy Wednesday!  Today I thought I would share a few fun little cards I whipped up, using the Snail Mail suite collection.  How can you not love these sweet little snails right!?!?

For my first card I went with two busy patterns and matted them both with blushing bride cardstock.  I coloured in my snail with Stampin' Blends and then, using a white gel pen, added some hand stitching to the border.  I think the chalk ink marker would work well for this too if you have it.

More From Forever Fern

I'm back with a few other cards I created using the Forever Fern bundle and designer series paper from Stampin' Up!  This time I did a card CASE (create and share everything!) from one of Anja's fantastic cards.

Anja is a fellow demo out of Germany, and you can see more of her beautiful creations with the Forever Fern stamp set HERE.  I batched stamped and die cut the leaf images so in addition to the ones I used for my cards here, I have an extra stash that is ready to go the next time I want to create.

All Inclusive Card Kits

Have you checked out the All Inclusive Card Kits offered in the current annual Stampin' Up! catalogue??  They are so well put together, and what a great idea really.  They have everything you need to sit down and whip up some cards!

I recently sat down with the Simply Citrus card kit.  It comes with enough supplies to make 15 cards, including a little pamphlet with card ideas, tips and steps to put your cards together.

Moments and Memories

Nothing seems more important in 2020 then the moments we get to share with our friends and family.  Having to distance from them so much in the last 8 months makes the times we do get to connect all the more special. That was my inspiration for the cards I am sharing with you today.

I wanted to make these more of a notecard style so I could use them when I just wanted to say 'hello' or let someone know I was thinking about them.  Remember that time we...?  The greens and blues are so beautiful together.

Gnome Place Like Home

Good morning!  Today I'm popping by to share some Gnome love.  I feel like gnomes are still super popular AND I'm sure I'm not alone when I tell you I have a few super cute gnome themed paper kits and stamps in my stash.

Summer is over I know, I know.  I just felt like mixing things up a bit and being a little unseasonal when I created these cards.  All of these cards were made using the same paper kit, no stamps (although I do have the coordinating stamps).  I don't buy a whole lot of kits, but they are kind of handy when want to create something quickly.

Let's Have Coffee

Last Saturday was World Card Making Day and although I couldn't gather with friends in person, it was still a fun-filled day of laughing, sharing and of course creating.  I think we are all learning and adapting to new ways of being together right now.

In honour of my crafty friends I made a these fun cards for a time when we can get together in person again.

Hello!

It's World Card Making Day today!  I love that we recognize this special day in our hobby. Why not right?  I am forever grateful that I was introduced to paper crafting; the people I have met and friendships I have made are amazing.  And the mediums I use have come so far.. From stickers and markers to die cuts and modeling pastes!

There will be so many challenges posted all over the world wide web today, and I for one have made a point of booking some me time so I can check them out and get crafty.  (I hope you have too.)

The One Sheet Wonder

I’ve often seen on Pinterest and YouTube where people have created cards doing something they call a ‘one sheet wonder’.  The concept is to use only one sheet of patterned paper to create as many cards as you can. I’ve honestly never stopped to pay too much attention to this concept, until a few weeks ago that is.

During the current pandemic a group of creative gals I know started a private Facebook chat in which they take turns coming up with a card making challenge everyday.  As I’ve still been working full time (from home) I haven’t been participating in the daily challenges, but when I saw one of the ladies post the days challenge as a ‘one sheet wonder’ challenge, I decided it was time to pay more attention and give it a go.

Flower Power

Happy Friday!  Just popping in quickly to share two cards I just finished for this weeks challenge on the Glitter and Ink Facebook pageThe challenge was to use Flowers; die cut, ephemera or stencil.

I chose to use both die cut and ephemera on my cards. There is a combination of quite a few “older” stash items here!  But I’m happy with how the  bits and pieces from multiple product lines and companies came together.

I'm Canadian. What's Your Super Power?

HAPPY CANADA DAY! I absolutely adored that saying as soon as I saw it.. "I'm Canadian. What's Your Super Power?" Let's face it, Canada is pretty awesome.

Creating 'Canada Day' themed cards is something I've never done before. The thought never even occurred to me.. who gives Canada Day cards??  It wasn't until I was out on a road trip with a few really great girlfriends that the whole conversation came up.  One of my friends had purchased this really cute kit a while back and had created many of her own fun cards for Canada Day.  Totally out of the norm for her too I think, but hearing her talk about how she enjoyed doing creating something completely different from the usually themed greeting cards sold me.
