The One Sheet Wonder

I’ve often seen on Pinterest and YouTube where people have created cards doing something they call a ‘one sheet wonder’.  The concept is to use only one sheet of patterned paper to create as many cards as you can. I’ve honestly never stopped to pay too much attention to this concept, until a few weeks ago that is.

During the current pandemic a group of creative gals I know started a private Facebook chat in which they take turns coming up with a card making challenge everyday.  As I’ve still been working full time (from home) I haven’t been participating in the daily challenges, but when I saw one of the ladies post the days challenge as a ‘one sheet wonder’ challenge, I decided it was time to pay more attention and give it a go.

The inspiration out there for creating cards using only one sheet of patterned paper is wonderful, and I feel like the general concept seems to be to keep the designs simple.  That way you can stretch your one sheet that much further in terms of how many cards you can make.

Although I have only shared a few here I was actually able to make a total of 13 cards with my one sheet of paper. Not bad! It was certainly a different type of challenge for me and I’m still on the fence as to whether I enjoyed it or not, but, when you’re down to that last piece of a favourite pattern paper this may be the perfect challenge to take on!
