Background Check

Have you ever taken part in an online card or scrapbooking class?  I'm not sure I ever have, or maybe it was so long ago I just don't remember.  Recently the "Crushing on Cardstock" class by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire caught my eye, so I decided to check out @onlinecardclasses to find out more (and see what other classes they offered).

Not only did I sign up for the upcoming cardstock class, but I also signed up for a previously posted class called "Background Check".  I love the idea of stretching my supplies and doing more with them.  I was so impressed -  these ladies do a bad ass job!!  Great videos, loads of techniques AND there is even a gallery if your looking for yet more inspiration!

I'm sharing a few on my cards here in which the backgrounds were created using fun techniques Kristina shares in the class. Giving the look of watercolour, these backgrounds are actually made with Distress Inks, and I love how they turned out.

I cut out three of the sentiments for each card and layered them for dimension.  A vellum circle to frame things and a few embellishments is all I needed to compliment these gorgeous backgrounds.  

I still have soooo many more fantastic backgrounds I created while working through this class. I love that I can go back to the videos again and again.  The ideas shared are a great jumping off point and I think they will also be quite handy when I'm feeling like I'm in a creative slump.

 I'm really looking forward to the next class!
