Old and New Go Hand In Hand

Every now and then a conversation will come up in a facebook group or at a crop event about what people do with thier Stampin' Up! catalogues once they retire.  Some recycle them, some tear out the pages that they have the coordinating stamp sets too and some keep the catologue in it's entirety. I think I would tend to fall more towards the last group.

Life gets busy sometimes and I don't always get to pay as much attention to a stamp set as I'd like to, OR sometimes a similar or extension stamp set will come out and I love being able to pull out past catalogues for inspiration.  Today I'm sharing an example of that with the Beautiful You stamp set from the 2019/2020 annual catalogue. Using the card samples on page 114 of that catalogue as inspiration I created two cards using a mix of the older stamp set and some new dies and embellishments.

You may be wondering why I'm talking about 'old' catalogues when a new one has just come out (and a new mini catty is right around the corner!) right? Well, it's because I just wanted to point out for those that are feeling like they have to use the old before they can buy anything new that you CAN have the best of both worlds!  Keep those old catty's for inspiration and have fun combining the old and new over and over again!

By the way.. Page 115 of that same 2019/2020 catalogue has some great card ideas that could be used with the new Hanned Penned Petals set in the 2021/2022 annual catalogue, just sayin'! ;)
