We have had really beautiful sunshiny days in the last little while, but today was really muggy, and so hot, and just kind of blah. The rain seemed to come and go on a whim today, and it got me thinking about a batch of cards I made not long ago featuring what else? Umbrellas!
I had wanted to use this really cute Stampin’ Up! stamp set that I’ve always liked but hadn’t given nearly enough attention to, and a pad of paper I picked up from Winners years ago. The stamp set is called Weather Together.
I chose a simple card design for these cards as I knew I wanted to make multiples. The stamp set is great because along with umbrellas it has several little extras like mini gifts and heart shaped raindrops.
Here are some cards I made using the little gifts from the stamp set. I should mention that I also have the coordinating diecuts to go with the stamp set, no fussy cutting here!
Because I still had plenty of the paper pad left over I decided to do a few more cards. I used another, more recent Stampin’ Up! stamp set for these that I believe is called Country Home. I gave the image a quick swipe of colour using Copics.
I did two final cards using the same paper pad, but no stamped images. Unfortunately I can’t tell you the name of the paper pad as it was purchased years ago and I had cut it up into 6 x 6 pieces, so I didn’t have the original packaging. Again, using up my older stash!
No matter the paper pad or the stamp set, I like the idea of combining bright and colourful papers with non-traditional sympathy or thinking of you themed cards. The sentiment is still very much heartfelt, and maybe the use of brighter colours will give a little hope to the person receiving them!
